I am currently Assistant Professor of Political Science at the Department of Political Science, University of the Philippines-Diliman.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of the Philippines-Diliman in 1998. In 1999, I started my stint as a teaching associate, handling Social Science II (Social, Political Economic Thought of Western Thinkers) for undergraduate students. During my candidacy as Masters of Arts in Political Science in 2002, I decided to embark on other pursuits.
From 2001 to 2004, I served as a technical policy consultant at the Philippine House of Representatives, while working as a college instructor at the University of Asia and the Pacific. In 2005, a teaching opportunity at the University of the Philippines once again came my way. I taught courses in Political science at the University of the Philippines-Manila from 2005 to 2010. Eventually, I earned a Masters in Public Management from the University of the Philippines in 2010. I am currently a PhD student at the Department of Political Science, University of the Philippines-Diliman.
Broadly, I am interested in political philosophy, political economy and public policy. As far as issue areas of research are concerned, I am quite interested in renewable energy development policy, as well as the dynamics of technology, media and politics.

My current research focuses on the politics and policies behind renewable energy development in the Philippines. I am particularly interested in the interface between the business sector, technology developers and state agencies involved in the development of renewable energy.
In addition to my academic endeavors, I also played for a pop-rock band and was a label-signed artist from 1999-2011. On the side, I also worked as a musical director writing musical compositions and arrangements for a number of advertising companies. I still continue to dabble with music, art, philosophy and cooking. |
